Since my childhood, I have been intensely interested in music of a variety of origins and styles. By attending the workshops of Niall Keegan and Mel Mercier (Irish flute, bodhrán) I was able to gain proficiency in respect to the “Irish groove.”
Bettina Schimak, Video Producer, has appropriately referred to the rhythmic-vocal flute technique which I created, as the “talking flute.” In developing this technique, I drew upon selected characteristics of the “Konnakkol” rhythm language of southern India.
CD productions, concerts, radio and television appearances with a variety of Bands and artists - Gandalf, Ciúnas, Celtic Folk Trio, ZigZag, Sound Off, Around Midnight, RSE, Steve Hackett ("Genesis"), Georg Danzer, Wolfgang Ambros, Marwan Abado, Ursula Leutgöb, Richard Schönherz, Emily Burridge, Erich Buchebner, Cristian Tezinsky, Gerald Lee Pfister, Kerstin Tauer... in Austria, Germany, Switzerland, the Netherlands, Italy, Finland, Brazil.
In 1981 I met Judith, my wife for life, who supports me in my work and keeps the administrative tasks away from me as much as possible. We were blessed with 3 wonderful children!
